Jester's Children Fair 2009

'Name the Bear' - an activity which our school organised within the fair

What is the Jester's Fair for Children? What are my roles for the event?

Jester's Children Fair is a charity event held every year. Even though I worked for an hour shift, it still taught me responsibility. I have never helped out in a booth before therefore It was a great first experience. I chose to help because I am a part of the school community therefore I must step up and participate. Since it's a charity event, if I hadn't gone to it, it would have made me personally feel disgraceful. I don't like regretting even though everyone has their moments of regrets in their life. This was due to last year, I skipped Jester's Fair to study and do my homework but ended up not doing anything. I truly regretted the past moment but it was history and life goes on. My assignment was very simple. I had to collect tickets and write the highest scores of the penalty shoot out. The winners of the different age categories will receive a trophy. What I've learnt was that if it's a charity event it's a must. Just by giving up some time can make you feel like a whole new you. It's always worth it!

What did I want to achieve personally?

My personal goal for this activity was basically to bond with children from different age group and being helpful when someone needed help. Moreover, through this job I would like to be principled in a sense that I've taken a role and basically and have to do and finish what I signed for. Since I'll be working for only one hour, I don't expect to develop a lot of skills. This job is more for my own experience in taking a different responsibility.

Did I achieved what I seek for?

Through the job which I undertook, I believe that personally I've met my goals is being significantly principled. Also, through participating have learnt to balance my time wisely in contrast to my attitude last year. Since the fair is on a Sunday, I had to plan when I am going to do homework and also when I am going to go to the fair.
