Furthermore, a Reflection on Windsurfing

I'VE MANAGED TO COMPLETE MY BEGINNER'S WINDSURFING!

What was expected in the beginner's course?

Through weeks of pain and adjusting myself to windsurfing, I finished the beginner's course. The beginner's course in windsurfing required me to:

1. Learn about the the wind, its direction and the perfect time to do windsurfing.

2. Balance with every part of my body on the board without falling off. Also, to be able to open and close the sail in either to reduce or increase the speed of the board.

3. Learn about safety while windsurfing. Therefore, what happens when you are by yourself windsurfing and your sail ripes or there is something wrong with the board...

4. Keeping my balance when the board is speeding up and using my arms, back and legs to hold grip (This was actually quite hard for me, as I fell a couple of times. However, I thought it was great fun. This was due to the speed I was going at).

5. Also, to learn to change directions on the board efficiently.

Overall, did I achieve what I aimed for?

Through the tough course I believe I have achieve what I aimed for as a risk-taker. This was due to the fact that I have put myself personally in an uncomfortable situation. While, windsurfing I first struggled in balancing on the board. My whole body ached while balancing myself on the board which resulted in short breaks before I actually tried again. Moreover, through challenging myself I have developed a new skill. I really appreciate this because in the future I can windsurf without guidance and also I can further developed what I already have and maybe even trying a similar sport such as kite boarding. Other than this, I believe that I have become an individual who can balance time between my academics and extra curricular activity. It is crucial to balance time. This is because in the future when I am working in the real world, balancing my time is important as not to increase stress.
